Several smaller requirements can make a supplier conversation more concrete. Instead of considering an isolated request, the supplier can assess a clearer picture of compatible product demand. The value comes from the quality of that picture, not simply from making the total look large.
Each company still needs a quantity it can explain from its own purchasing plans.
Confirm that the needs belong together
Before joining, read the specification and counting unit. Similar product names do not establish that materials, dimensions, package contents and intended use are compatible. A quantity of cartons cannot be added meaningfully to a quantity of individual pieces without first resolving the unit.
Check the timing as well. A matching product may still be unsuitable if it is needed in a different period. The aim is to identify a coherent need that a supplier can evaluate, rather than conceal differences inside one aggregate number.
Keep one current quantity for your company
In an ImportersDeals Demand Pool, each company has its own quantity. Updating that quantity replaces its earlier entry; it does not add another layer of demand. While the pool is collecting participation, use the current amount your company genuinely intends to evaluate.
Before entering or updating it, ask:
- Does this quantity use the pool’s stated unit?
- Does it reflect our current requirement rather than an optimistic possibility?
- Has another person already entered our company’s need?
- Would a changed specification or timing alter the amount we can use?
This keeps the total useful as planning information. It should not be described as a confirmed order book or proof that the supplier has accepted the group.
Keep destination and freight questions visible
Different destination countries do not automatically create separate product pools. Demand is aggregated by country as well as across the pool. That can help clarify where compatible product needs exist without publishing the participating buyers’ identities.
It does not establish a shared freight price or a delivery arrangement. Supplier proposals concern product and production; freight and destination services require separate review. Do not assume that combining product demand makes delivery terms identical for every company.
Treat the total as preparation for a decision
Clearer demand may help a supplier assess whether a workable proposal is possible. It does not guarantee lower prices, an accepted offer or a resulting campaign. Pool participation is not an order, payment, contract or binding purchase commitment; any later Supplier Campaign needs separate review and acceptance.
Explore Demand Pools and contribute a compatible, realistic company quantity rather than a number chosen only to reach the target.
